Pruning & health
Cuts made at the right time of year, in the right place on the branch.
What's involved
Pruning at the wrong time costs you a season of flowering or invites disease into an open wound. We prune spring bloomers after they flower, summer bloomers in late winter, and never top a tree. Hedges get shaped with a slight batter so the bottom keeps its light and doesn't go bare. Deadwood and storm damage handled year-round.
Details
Shaped two to three times per season with a tapered face so the base stays full.
Structural pruning in the dormant season. Flowering shrubs pruned right after bloom.
Small tree and shrub removal including stump grinding. Larger removals referred to a certified arborist.
Seasonal checks for scale, canker, borers and winter salt damage.
